Au réveillon du nouvel an, Gabriella Montez, une étudiante timide et surdouée, rencontre Troy Bolton, capitaine de l'équipe de basket-ball de son lycée qui est très populaire, sur une chanson qu'ils sont forcés de chanter à une soirée karaoké. À la rentrée des classes, Gabriella emménage au Nouveau-Mexique avec sa mère et intègre le lycée d'Albuquerque, East High. Elle y retrouve, par hasard, Troy et malgré l'éloignement de leurs deux univers, les adolescents tombent amoureux. Entre le décathlon scientifique et le championnat de basket-ball, les auditions pour Nuit étoilée (la comédie musicale du lycée) sont organisées. Mais leur intérêt pour le chant n'est pas du goût de tout le monde, surtout pas pour Ryan et Sharpay Evans qui ont déjà participé à 17 productions scolaires. Ils sont sûrs d'avoir le rôle et ne veulent pas que Troy et Gabriella leur volent les rôles principaux. Ces derniers sont donc décidés à ne pas les laisser faire; ils vont donc tout mettre en œuvre pour rester au sommet.

Corbin est né d'un père jamaïcain acteur David Reivers et d'une mère d'origine italo-américaine. Il a trois jeunes sœurs: Hunter, Phoenix et Jag. Corbin joue aussi du piano. Il a commencé sa carrière en apparaissant dans des publicités à l'âge de deux ans. Ensuite, il a pris des cours de danse et est devenu mannequin pour des magasins comme Macy's, GAP, Target ou bien Toys "R" Us.


Monique Coleman est née le 13 novembre 1980 à Orangeburg (Caroline du Sud, États-Unis), est une actrice et chanteuse américaine. Elle est connue pour son rôle Taylor McKessie dans High School Musical.

Ashley Michelle Tisdale est une actrice et chanteuse américaine, née le 2 juillet 1985 à West Deal (New Jersey). Elle est notamment connue pour son rôle de Sharpay Evans dans les téléfilms High School Musical ou son rôle de Maddie Fitzpatrick dans La Vie de Palace de Zack et Cody.



Lucas Stephen Grabeel est un acteur et chanteur américain, né le 23 novembre 1984 à Springfield (Missouri). Il est principalement connu pour son rôle de Ryan Evans dans les films High School Musical
